Life in Nihon

I have now been back in Japan for over 2 months. I must say that it is not completely what I expected. Having had a solid network last time with the other students compared to being on my own this time is an eye-opening experience.

That said, I am grateful for this experience. I understand that in the end, I am on my own, but right behind me is a large support network which is very nice. I thank those of you supporting me and wishing the best for me.

Also, 2 months deep into the job I am starting to come into a groove. I understand the work much better now and feel as though I'm starting to excel in it, which is a nice feeling.

Now that I've got bugs out of my life, I am also settling in to my apartment and life. This is a good feeling to be able to have some sense of stability and certainty. In the next day or two I will post pictures of my apartment for the world to see. (But first I've got to clean...heh)

Having a blog will prove a good experience for me to let out some steam and just keep connected.

I thank everyone again for your support and will start keeping regular updates.

Life is Continuing

Sunday marked my first month in Tokyo. Things are rolling along. I am getting adjusted to the job, and to the fact that I have to work from here on out.

I'm on my third apartment in 3 weeks, but will hopefully keep this one for more than a couple of days. Well, hope all is well , not much else to report.

Back into the swing of things

Hey everybody. Will here. I'm in my 2nd apartment in Tokyo because the first was um...yeah. I have about 100 bug bites on my body because my first apartment was infested with bed bugs. Luckily this 2nd apartment is 1) big and 2) baller because it has internet. Unfortunately, I can't stay here for long, just until Saturday or Sunday. But, that should be my last apartment for a while (3rd in 2 weeks).

Work is going well. Starting to get back into the swing of things, and once all the bites heal i'll be able to sleep for more than 2 hours at a time. Haven't seen any of my old Tokyo friends yet, however, I will probably see one or so this weekend. We might have a typhoon hit here soon, which would be interesting, but I'll be alright.

Well, not too much else to say right now. Hope all is well with everyone. And I will indeed, update much more frequently this time.

I`m Back!

Hello everybody. I`m back in Japan. I arrived two days ago, Friday the 29th of June. Everything up until now has been getting things in order. I got my monstrous apartment, heh, and started to settle in. I actually looks liveable now. From my work you can see the famous Tokyo Tower (Eiffel Tower ripoff that`s taller than the original). Tomorrow I have my first day of work in Japan. It will be interesting. I`ve taken pictures of my apartment but am not on my computer so cannot post them at this time. I haven`t completely forgotten all of my Japanese, but it is a slope I`m having to go up. Oh well, I didn`t decide to do this because I thought it was gonna be completely easy. Well, I don`t have much else to say so I guess I will cut things off there for now. I`ll write in soon.

Sorry

Well team, sorry I haven't posted in a long time. It's basically much ado about Tokyo in my life. I've gotten into a routine and haven't done anything really super new so just haven't posted. I did however throw a Cinco de Mayo party in a British pub in Tokyo. Kinda crazy, and craziest of all, I cooked. Made tacos for like 15 people and they were delicious. Just had some Japanese midterms, a joke and I have two econ ones coming up that will also be candy.

Hope everything is going well with everyone else.

Sorry I haven't posted reguarly like I said I would. Will try to start doing so soon, just hasn't been too much to say other than I went to class and learned etc. Have met lotsa dope people, though, which is always good. Will post again soon.

Nikko

Well guys, as I said, I would post a blog about my last trip. The trip to Nikko. I missed the bus due to waking up late, so I had to get there on my own. This was not too bad, however, just two different trains. On the 2nd train, I met a cat named Damien from Canada and we kicked it on the train ride. Then, when I got there, I had missed meeting up with my group, so I just continued to kick it with him for a while until I met up with my group.

Once back with my group in Nikko, we stayed at a hotel that's a Ryoukkan style hotel (old-school basically). They had an outside bath for people to chill at, and also had yukatas (Kimonos) for everyone to wear. Needless to say, I rocked that bad boy all day long. The next day was mad rainy, but we say some cool waterfalls and I think I might get to have a pic of me and my friend Adrienne in the Asahi Shimbun (newspaper here in Japan). Below are some of the pics I took, the coolest to me being the "hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil" monkeys.

Good Trip

Hello. I have just returned from Nikko, an ancient city in Japan. Took lots of badass pictures that I'm too lazy to upload right now, but will do so very soon. Saw lotsa old temples, and saw the "hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil" monkeys. The trip was a good time. Will post more in depth later and will have it accompanied by pictures. Hope everyone is doing well, Will.
